Dear Parents, Students and Staff

Breaking news:  there will be a winter market at school this year!

The Sint en Kerstmarkt 2009 (as it is called this year) will take place on Sunday 22 November 2009 from 12.00 until 17.00 at the European School Bergen.

Two very exquisite guests will also be there - the busy Saint Nicholas (Sinterklaas) and the busy Santa Claus (Father Christmas) will meet our guests.  You can also have your picture taken with them!

It will be an abundance of activities that will make it possible for everyone to participate, children and adults.  Let’s make this the best winter market ever! As usual the proceeds will go to charity.

Everyone is welcome to have a stand for food and beverages, handcraft, presents, decorations, workshops or whatever you desire. Vendors are also welcome.  There will be a lovely prize for the stall voted as the best on the market.  (Unfortunately vendors cannot participate in this competition).

There will also be a small flea market where people can sell their treasures themselves (all items in good condition please) and keep the income.  Tables (1,2m x 0,6m) can be reserved and cost 20euro each (members of the PA get a 50% discount).

We are also looking for loads of volunteers to sign up as Zwartepieten, to help at the wardrobe or to just assist with all the various tasks that may arise.

A short meeting will take place in the Aula on Friday 16 October from 09.15 – 10.30.  Everyone is welcome even if you are not going to have a table, let’s meet over a cup of coffee or tea.

If you wish to participate in the Sint en Kerstmarkt 2009, please send an email to wintermarktesb@gmail.com with your name and telephone numbers and specify what you would like to do.  If you want to participate in a group but are not sure which one, then sign up individually and mention that you would like to join a group.

Looking forward to hear from you!

Warm winter greetings

Valerie Smit
